Fort Denison
Information: Fort Denison’s sandstone Martello Tower was completed in 1857 as part of fortifications on ‘Pinchgut’ Island in the centre of Sydney Harbour. The island was renamed Fort Denison, after Governor William Denison, in 1862. It is now part of Sydney Harbour National Park and is accessible by tour. See website for details.
