Information: The aims of the Society are: (1) to maintain and share material; (2) transcribing, cataloguing and indexing of material; (3) providing a repository for community groups (e.g. minute books); (4) the preservation and protection of paper documents and photos; (5) to provide historical information for the wider community; and (6) to provide displays for community events. Founded 1951.
Publications: 'The Chronicle' is published bi-monthly. Editor - Larina Strauch.
Events: Meetings, with guest speakers, are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm; October meeting - birthday celebrations; Sunday February 12 2006 - History Workshops with exhibits, lectures and open garden, 10am to 4pm.
